Inter-Agency Working
Nothing in these Procedures should be seen as preventing any of the routine activities of professional best practice and this includes multidisciplinary team meetings and the holding of case conferences where cases are complex or where inter-professional communication and decision-making is difficult. Some multiagency meetings may be specific to safeguarding but the need to meet and discuss issues is not exclusive to safeguarding.
Safeguarding should not be used as leverage to get other organisations to cooperate with routine casework (or to utilising more creative ways of managing routine casework).
There are also other forums that manage risk. The Community Adult Support Panel (CASP) is a meeting where information is shared about complex cases between key stakeholders. The primary focus of the panel is to safeguard individuals and groups to prevent further risk of harm.
