Glossary: Area Child Protection Committee |
|
Area Child Protection Committees were the multi-agency groups set up to determine the policies and procedures to be followed concerning child protection in a given area, issuing procedures in line with Working Together. They have been replaced by Local Safeguarding Children Boards: The Local Safeguarding Children Board is the successor to the Area Child Protection Committee. The Board is made up of representatives from a range of public agencies with a common interest and with duties and responsibilities to children in their area. It has responsibility for ensuring effective inter-agency working together to safeguard and protect children in the area. The Board has to ensure that clear local procedures are in place to inform and assist anyone interested or as part of their professional role where they have concerns about a child. |
