Glossary: Child Protection Enquiry

Size:

An enquiry into possible significant harm to a child (e.g. through physical, emotional or sexual abuse, or through neglect), carried out by a local social services authority under section 47 of the Children Act 1989. May include police investigations or investigation by the NSPCC.
