Admiral Nurse Service

Admiral Nurses are dementia specialist nurses who provide one-to-one support and expert advice to families living with dementia to meet complex needs. They work collaboratively with families and people living with dementia to:

• Provide psychological support and relationship centred approaches;
• Help families better understand dementia and develop skills to meet the needs of the individual living with dementia;
• Consider and address feelings of loss and bereavement as dementia progresses;
• Provide signposting and referral to other services;
• Provide consultancy and specialist dementia education to colleagues and other professionals.

If you believe that the service may be beneficial for an individual you are working with referrals should be made in line with local processes and requirements.
