Individual Service Fund (ISF)

An Individual Service Fund is one way that a person can receive their Personal Budget. With an ISF the budget is paid to a third party, usually called an ISF organisation or an ISF provider. They are responsible for agreeing with the person how to use the money to meet all of the eligible needs the person has and achieve their outcomes as defined in the Care and Support Plan.

One of the benefits of an ISF is that, so long as the costs don’t exceed the annual budget the method of service delivery can be used flexibly over the year and changed in agreement with the person without the need for any Local Authority input.
