Managing Practice Learning course

We will be running a Managing Practice Learning (MPL) course on the dates below. This course is made up of 4 half day sessions and all sessions need to be attended in order to complete this in full.

  • Day one - 7th June 2021 (09:30 – 13:00)
  • Day two - 8th June 2021 (09:30 – 13:00)
  • Day three - 21st June 2021 (09:30 – 13:00)
  • Day four - 22nd June 2021 (09:30 – 13:00)

We are committed to growing our own Social Workers and creating learning and development opportunities for staff and students alike. Supporting students, whether in a placement educator or supervisor capacity, is a rewarding opportunity and allows you to grow in your role sharing your invaluable knowledge and support to those just starting out in the profession.

The MPL training will equip you with the right skills you need to support students and allow you to teach, inspire and motivate whilst creating a safe learning environment for students to put into practice their own skills and experience which they have acquired from their education and learning to date.

Pre-requirements:

  • You should be a qualified social worker but not this is not compulsory
  • You must commit to taking a student when approached. This will be within 12 months after attending the training
  • You must have manager approval to attend the training with them understanding that they will be required to accommodate a student in their team
  • You must complete the declaration form before making a booking

How to book:

To book a place on the MPL course, please discuss this opportunity with your manager and team manager first and then complete and return the declaration form to Learning and Development. We will add your name to our booked list and send out the calendar invites to all four sessions.
