Mental Health Services
Mental health services in Waltham Forest are provided by the following integrated teams: Single Point of Access and Brief Intervention, Early Intervention and Psychosis, Community Rehabilitation (3 localities), Older People’s Mental Health and the AMHP service. Social workers carry out a full range of functions under the Care Act 2014, the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and care coordination under the Mental Health Act 1983.
The primary purpose of these procedures is to support practitioners in mental health services to perform their statutory functions under the Care Act and the Mental Capacity Act.

AMHP's, and anyone considering or needing to make a referral to the AMHP service should also refer to the AMHP Procedure.
