Mental Health
Most people prefer to be treated at home and only be admitted to an inpatient unit as a last step or where specialist treatment is required. The Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust therefore provides a range of specialist services designed to provide care and support to people in homes and community settings (such as clinics), causing as little disruption as possible to everyday family and working life.
These include:
- Acute hospital liaison;
- Adult recovery services;
- Complex intervention team;
- Early intervention in psychosis;
- Intensive services;
- Learning disabilities;
- Primary care liaison service;
- Street triage service.
The purpose of these procedures is to support adult social care practitioners in mental health services to perform their statutory functions under the Care Act and the Mental Capacity Act.
Those also performing functions under the Mental Health Act should refer to:
- Social Circumstances Report;
